Outshot is a Mac utility made by Eitan. This page describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Short version: screenshots stay on your Mac unless you explicitly confirm a Notion image upload. OCR text and your typed intent may be sent to the parser provider so Outshot can prepare an editable route preview. We collect your email when you join the waitlist and basic analytics to understand how people use the landing page.
Email address — when you join the waitlist. Used to notify you before launch and to send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Use-case preference — optional. If you tap a destination chip after signing up, we store which destination matters most to you. Used to prioritize which routes we ship first.
Analytics events — Outshot uses PostHog to track funnel events: page views, waitlist submissions, and which pricing tier you click. Autocapture is disabled. We never capture screenshot content, keystrokes, or destination content.
IP address — used for rate-limiting requests to the waitlist API. Not stored in our database beyond server logs.
OCR runs on-device via Apple Vision. Screenshot images are not sent to the parser provider. Only OCR-extracted text and your typed intent are sent for parsing. The one case where a screenshot image is uploaded is when a destination requires an attachment, such as a Notion image block, and only after your explicit confirmation.
OAuth tokens for destinations (Calendar, Linear, Notion, etc.) are stored in macOS Keychain only — never on our servers or in localStorage.
| Processor | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Waitlist email storage | supabase.com/privacy |
| Beehiiv | Email updates | beehiiv.com/privacy |
| PostHog | Funnel analytics | posthog.com/privacy |
| OpenAI | Optional parser provider (text only, no images) | openai.com/privacy |
| Anthropic | Optional parser provider (text only, no images) | anthropic.com/privacy |
Outshot's production parser is configured only with API providers and account settings where submitted API content is not used to train models.
Waitlist emails are kept until you request deletion or 24 months of inactivity. Analytics events are retained per PostHog's default (1 year). Outshot does not store OCR text or typed intent on its own servers after the parser request completes.
Email hi@outshot.app to delete your waitlist entry and all associated data, export your data, or opt out of analytics.
